Welcome to the Stock Connect site/blog for status updates and information. Here, we will include all things network related – system outages, maintenance, and upcoming enhancements. We recommend frequenting this site, adding www.mystockcloud.com/wordpress, or even sign up for RSS feeds.

Each post will have a category:

  • Maintenance – performing routine maintenance and normal software updates like windows updates.
  • System Outages – This is where we identify a known issue or outage. We will then post any times when normal service is expected to be restored and any work arounds.
  • Enhancements – This category describes recently installed or soon to be installed additional enhancements or software features.

Dewey System – Exchange Servers

Users on the Dewey Systems may experience some issues connecting. We are aware of the issue and the issue should be resolved shortly.

blackberry maintenance

We are currently working with Blackberry technical support. We may have to reboot the servers a couple of times. Please be patient with us over the next couple of hours while we resolve this intermittent issue. We would typically wait for a late night maintenance window to perform this update/troubleshooting but due to the recent days, we are wanting to proceed as quickly as possible to resolve this issue.

This affects blackberry users only. This does not affect Outlook, Webmail, iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

Blackberry Service – rebooting server

We are rebooting the service and it will be up and running in 10 minutes.

We realize this is an on-going issue, and working on a permanent resolution with Blackberry Technical Support.  We have isolated the issue and are working on a long term solution for the problem.  This problem only effects the user’s with the Blackberry phones.  We should have a final resolution in a day or two.

Upgrade

We performed an upgrade last night that added many new features, such as, faster operation and support for newer phones. In doing so, it does require an upgrade on each client. The process is automatic but it will prompt you to upgrade. Simply choose YES. A reboot may be required. The upgrade process can take 5 to 30 minutes depending upon the number of emails and hardware of the machine.

Note: we are in the process of upgrading our server tonight to support the new OS X Lion! Please hold off on this upgrade until July 22nd when we have put the required software upgrades in place.

Stock Cloud: Maintenance

Valued Customer,

At approximately 8:30 p.m. CST on Wednessday July 20th 2011, the email server will be
unavailable due to maintenance. The maintenance is expected to last 30 miniutes.  During this time, email services will be unavailable. After the maintenance window has expired, any emails that were sent while the service was unavailable will be delivered as normal.  If you experience any issues with errors or not receiving emails, we recommend that you reboot your program (Outlook) or device.

Note:
During this time, no new emails will be received. However, you will have access to old emails. Any emails that are sent while the server is offline will sent in the outbox and will not be delivered. When servers are restored to normal operations, all emails will then be sent and new emails will be received.

IF YOU REQUIRE EMAILS TO BE AVAILABLE DURING TIMES OF MAINTENANCE OR OUTAGES, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SALES REP REGARDING OUR “ENHANCED” EMAIL.

This is a service that you will have access to your emails even during an outage or maintenance periods. The cost is $5 dollars per month, per user. Depending on the number of users, this cost may vary.

Blackberry server will be unavailable due to maintenance.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. CST on Monday June 27th 2011, the Blackberry server will be unavailable due to maintenance.  The maintenance is expected to last 1 hour. During this time, email services for Blackberry devices will be offline.  Access your email through the webmail portal and Outlook will not be effected.  After the maintenance window has expired, all Blackberry devices will automatically sync and recover from the outage.  If you
experience any issues with errors or not receiving emails on your phone, we recommend that you reboot your blackberry device.

HUEY Maintenance

Tonight starting at 9:00 PM Eastern we will be taking the mailbox databases on HUEY offline to perform an offline defragmentation. We anticipate the scan will take up to 4 hours, which will leave mailbox access offline until the database is remounted. Clients are able to utilize livearchive (https://livearchive.exchangedefender.com) during the maintenance schedule to continue working with live mail.
Update 8:35 PM Eastern: We will begin work in 30 minutes, starting with dismounting the database and copying it to a temporary storage drive, and then starting the offline defrag. After the defrag completes, we will mount the database from the temporary location and stress test the integrity. After we’ve assured integrity we will copy the database back to the active RAID controller.
We estimate that each step may take up to 2 hours to complete , but we will update this post along the way.
Update 9:10 PM Eastern: We are pushing back maintenance one hour as we rearrange the temporary storage iSCSI server to increase overall speed, expecting to lower the overall time.
Update 10:09 PM Eastern: We will be begin the above outlined process in 5 minutes.
